To create a Portable Spoof Emitter for surveillance and ground based air defence weapons

Description

1. IAF uses various types of radiation emitting devices in Radars for surveillance and ground based air defence weapons.
2. Due to operational requirements, there is need to have spoof transmissions of these emitters which are located away from original emitters.
3. It is proposed to develop a POSERAD for one sample emitter through iDEX. Suitable emitter will be selected as a part of co-development under the iDEX process.
4. Broad developmental requirements of POSERAD are:-
(a) Should be portable (can be mounted on, or deployed using a light/medium capacity vehicle). Exact mobility requirements will be mutually finalised under iDEX.
(b) Should be able to emit radiation of the same type, pattern and strength as the original emitter. Exact radiation requirements will be mutually finalised under iDEX.
(c) The operation of the POSERAD should be autonomous, as far as possible, with minimum intervention needed from the operator.
(d) The overall construction should be rugged for deployment in terrains encountered in north, east and west of the country.
(e) It should take two or less people to transport/ operate/ erect the POSERAD.
