IDEX-DIO, Ministry of Defence and IIT-Goa organised a virtual roadshow as a part of the fourth edition of Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC-4). DISC is designed to develop an ecosystem and to foster innovation & technology development in Defence and Aerospace by engaging innovators & entrepreneurs to deliver technologically advanced solutions for modernizing Indian Military.
The event was successfully held on Wednesday, 4th November 2020 with Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence Shri Shripad Naik ji as the chief guest of the event. Other dignitaries present were:
- Additional Secretary Defence Production: Sh. Sanjay Jaju
- Chief Operating officer DIO- Sh. Vivek Virmani
- Program Director iDEX DIO -Col Arvind Kumar and other officers of DIO.
- Director IIT Goa - Prof B K Mishra,
- Representatives of Services from Army, Air Force and Navy
- Representatives from DPSUs.
During the event, introduction to the 11 challenges launched for DISC 4, and various opportunities emanating out of the launch, were presented. The event had attendees from the IIT Goa ecosystem including faculty, staff and students who engaged in a conversation with the dignitaries, post the program.
