Submerged Submarine Launched Expendable Bathy Thermograph (SSLXBT)

Description

Submarines rely heavily on knowledge and exploitation of the Bathymetric profile in the area of operations. Presently the submarine has to physically dive to its maximum depth frequently to measure bathymetric profile. This puts strain on the hull, machinery and crew. The Submerged Submarine Launched Bathy Thermograph System (SSLXBT) enables a submarine to deploy an expendable probe through the existing Submerged Signal Ejector tube to measure sea water temperature from the surface level down to depths far exceeding its maximum diving depth without physically changing depth.
