Design and Development Of Windlass, Capstan and Chain Stopper for Submarine

The Windlass, Capstan and Chain stopper is designed for following function:

• To pull the submarine by means of synthetic ropes (mooring lines) so that submarine can be berth at one position to enable the crew to move in a safe way on the casing for work like maintenance etc.

• Anchoring the submarine in a static position by means of an anchor and an anchoring line.

Future Expectation from the prototype / Technology developed

Successful completion of Land based trials for submarine environment. The system is intended to be used in Submarine.
