Presently, a wide array of latest pollution response equipment is being utilised globally for containing, recovery and disposal of oil spills. However, detection remains the primary component of any swift and timely response to any oil spill disaster. CG ships and aircraft frequently report sightings of oil spills, but the percentage of spills detected is still relatively low. Detection and tracking of oil spill is essential for determining the location, migration and behavior of the oil spill. The process of monitoring the oil spillage depends on the integrated loop of real sources, such as Oil Spill Detection (OSD) system which significantly reduce the potential for both environmental impact and the cost of response operations.
