Electro Magnetic Launch System for Maritime Operations
The Indian Navy requires a compact electromagnetic launch system capable of launching unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or mission payload projectiles from naval platforms/ bases without the need for conventional rocket boosters or pneumatic catapult systems. The system should use DC current driven electromagnetic acceleration along conductive rails to impart the required launch velocity. The launcher must support various payload masses depending on mission requirements. The system must be compact, modular and capable of safe operation onboard naval vessels, considering constraints of deck space, power availability and maritime environmental conditions.
